The Sin of Animus

The Sin of Animus

A Poem by ComposerofWords
"

It's a poem about the constant struggle from within.

"

Hostile rebuke at embittered walk

Callused heart from identity lain,

Most heavy load on suffering roam

Has not the strength, eyes sealed with caulk.

Too many tears held back through streams

A tender cause yet eyes do strain,

A withered faith which thins through gloam

His hope for change, light’s glory beam.

Caution all, an ire wrought

Brought ever high on dais deign,

Common words read in precious tome

Misplaced fear on troubled thought.

Cast a net to fill it full

Of sin and flesh and rotting blain,

Walk straight and true and barrel home

Delve deep, delve oft to feel the pull.

Author's Note

I was playing around with the rhyming, as every 1st and 4th line rhymed while each 2nd and 3rd lines rhymed with each 2nd and 3rd line of each stanza.
