some things

some things

A Poem by thespaceinmybed

are hung in throat

so you cant help but taste them

when you're alone

you are the only bit of myself

I don't despise

but you ache just like the rest

a throbbing I refuse to feel

I spend my thoughts wisely

not believing too closely

because faith is for the lost

the stupid and the blind

I know feelings are fleeting

emotions can't be trusted

I hold nothing

And count the emptiness every night

there is no solution

I do not wish for salvation

that has no legs

I love you while not trusting love

I believe in you while knowing belief

is futile

I make my own misery

let it wash my soul in things

that will never happen

This well-written piece shouts of youthful rebellion and raw truth of age and pain! The first stanza is brilliant and snatched me in for the duration...an awesome but painful...but awesome experience to read.

Thanks for sharing!!!
