No other bird can drink from that spring

No other bird can drink from that spring

A Poem by Ivan Mauricio Urrego

No other bird can drink from that spring
No other ear,
hears to the rumble of your beat,
no other hand can feel your bosoms,
only the drops of tamed waters can rub your divisions,
only the warm beams of the Sun can tempt your skin,
nothing more than the dawn and the shades,
because only I tolerate, the kisses of the rain,
and the caress of the wind,
since even of the same air I feel jealousy.
Only I want to be the sailor of your limited infinite,
which alone, the loneliness accompanied of dreams,
only they may be the witness of your nudity,
the stones of the river and the paths alone
can feel the light of your feet,
because I want to be the only thirsty bird,
which drinks from that kind spring.
