Fallen Angel

Fallen Angel

A Poem by Ivan Mauricio Urrego

I felt your pain and your anguish
I knew your plans and your last wish,
here where the stars at dark abide
and the moon kisses the nighttime,
the burning sun stands witness
to the last glimmers of your life
burning your angel’s wings to dust,
the moment gives birth of mourning days to last.

Now then you will be gone
and then whispers of the night
light as a baby’s sigh,
will bring your voice
as the wind passes by.

But none of your deeds will be in vain
deep in my heart you will live again,
I will save a payer for you and farewell
on your way to where the brave dwell,
may they welcome you into valhalla´s hall
in the eyes of them all.
