Bruises

I bruised my hand against a bathroom wall.

Once,

Because I couldn’t be strong enough.

Twice,

Because I shouldn’t be strong enough,

Three times,

Because I wouldn’t be strong enough.

Because I bruised,

Because I let it crack against that bathroom wall
