Hard To Let Go

Hard To Let Go

A Poem by Jake
"

Tough times call for desperate measures, sorry about being so depressing!

"
Hard to let go

I fell once,
It wasn’t far,
More of a stumble,
But I still fell.

I teetered,
For a split second,
But then I felt,
Your hand on my shoulder,

Holding me close,
Not willingly,
But I was already attached,
Always holding you.

And now I’m falling again,
No stumble this time,
A full, blown trip,
Back into winter.

No surprise is it,
Really?
That I’m finding it,
Hard to let go.

This made me think of girls I was smitten with, but had little interest in me. I liked the use of "winter" I wasn't ready for it, so I felt the cold.
