A Never-Ending Sky

A Never-Ending Sky

A Poem by Collyn

My thoughts are seldom pleasant
My mind leads me astray
I'm trapped inside my mind
There's no pushing thoughts away

An incommunicable feeling;
When nobody understands
The thoughts you think so floridly;
So complicated; so grand

People ask about these thoughts;
About what is on my mind
They ask about my future
So concrete: So blind

Thoughts gush like a raging river
From this mess that is my brain
They are so abstract they are beautiful
But beauty comes with pain

Usually thoughts get the best of me
Then, I just curl up and cry
And let my thoughts take flight
And lose myself in a never-ending sky

Marvelous title, Collyn, and a fabulous poem many wish they had the talent to compose.
So much of that which your words expressed, I felt as if they were my very own, and it is exactly how thoughts once were when I was first going through a state of reaching into higher consciousness, when I first began to realize the entirety of the narrow and conditioned world I lived in was but a minuscule portion of all that exists.
Truly, it is amazing how you've chosen and arranged the precise words to express your state-of-being during your "stirred" moments in transferring form unconsciousness to the next higher level of awareness … or, this is how I read and grasp the essence of your words, My Friend.
Excellent poetry, too, with a flow and rhyme-scheme that highlights your skills beautifully.
Whatever the truths may be, Collyn, I thank you for sharing them so masterfully and deeply felt upon the page, that we might bear admiring witness! ⁓ Richard

'beauty comes with pain.' This was my favorite line. There is some philosophical truth in it too.

Beautiful concept, our minds are so much more than we can ever really perceive. Thank you for sharing :)

Very interesting and relatable, I get the sense that dark thoughts are rampant in your mind, you can't get rid of them. They can be beautiful, but are ultimately very overwhelming.

I like it. My thoughts only happen when I am in a nirvanic state, and those thoughts are ones regarding existence itself.

The flow and composition are amazing, as well as the word choice. You should be proud of this bold and terrific piece. Great work! :)
