A Poem by Collette Clark

I want to remember today
Your words are sweet
Too bitter sweet
Somehow you manage to name
The exact location where my heart lays
It's a shock to me
The knowledge you retain, even what you don't need
Oh, how I wish there was some other way
But I can't love you
Not today, not ever
My love must be true
To force it is something I can't do
I'll wish for this forever
And everywhere I go, I'll think of you
