NEVER FORGOTTENA Poem by colleenp119
I haven"t forgotten you, Dad
though it may appear that way. My exterior is a clever mask, that I"ve learned to wear each day. It"s a costume of false happiness, and apparent self control. But the threaded seams are wearing thin and have taken a harsh toll. I"ve learned to speak of you know with a smile upon my face. It helps to hide the turmoil that no one can erase. I pretend to disguise my sadness with thoughts of all good things. And to accept the heart aches, that life can sometimes bring. I know I fool alot of people for the truth is not well known. For only you can see me cry, When I sit in the dark alone. © 2017 colleenp119 |
