ThoughtsA Poem by Cody Jeremy ThompsonSpent time remembering ideas for stories and then forgetting them. Second best thing I could think of apart from smashing my head open from irritation towards my short memory was to write a song.
Spectre of abstract in a murky hole.
Created in my mind, By a ripple of relief. During time of my minds drought. Invoked a zeitgeist for a moment. From time to time it reappears , It just whizzes by so fast. With which should I captivate it's searing ambiguity? Never can I think of words, Nor gestures that would do it justice. I can't catch it for more than a moment. Alas too late for it is no longer it, It's different every time. I rummage trough my thoughts trying to find the predecessor, Losing the heir in the process. The work is that of Sisyphus. Another heir comes, I'm rolling this stone upwards again. Past one I'm never getting back. Back to the bottom of the slope I go. © 2016 Cody Jeremy ThompsonAuthor's Note
