Human Garbage

Human Garbage

A Story by Collin Barham
"

He was bullied, beaten, and worn down to the stub. People were trash. Life was trash. He was trash.

"

¨Beat it nerd," He screamed!

¨Go run home to your mommy¨, they said!

“You’ll never have any friends," everyone told me!

¨Go kill yourself¨, she said.

That was my school life every day. I’d get up and cry. Then go to school, hide in the bathroom and cry some more. Then go home after school and cry myself to sleep and do the same thing again. I have been doing that for as long as I have known.

But there was a time when I broke that pattern.

I came home that afternoon with the Landon brothers still following me home every day throwing insult after insult at my face and shoving it down my throat. Even tho their in 9th grade and I am in 6th. They go out of their way to make me feel insignificant and them feel like gods. It works.I am garbage, I am a burden to my family, and I will never amount to anything.

When I make it home I swing open my broken door, dragging my body and luggage behind me. I don't even bother closing it. After walking what seemed a million steps away there it was the face of my door.I sluggishly entered in my room and locked the door and just tossed my stuff all over the floor. I flopped on my ripped up and raggedy, rock solid bed, laying belly up. I stared blankly at the ceiling for about an hour then an idea sparked in my head after looking at the fan. How I could stop them bullying me once and for all.

I snatched a worn out leather belt from my closet and tied it to the rickety fan. Once I place the step stool to reach it. Then I tightened the belt into a loop. Shoved my head in the loop I made and that was it. I kicked the stool out from underneath my feet and I had minutes to live then second.I thought to myself why didn't I do this sooner. It will make everyone happy. It got darker and darker but before I went out my I heard my mom banging and pounding on the door. Screaming “Logan! Logan! Open up honey! Come on!” She got so scared she kicked it down then screamed louder and higher than I have ever heard and thrust towards me. Then I went out cold.

The next thing I knew I awoke in the hospital strapped down to the bed hands and feet bound. My mom and dad asleep on the couch and chair.
