TAKEN FOR VANTAGE

TAKEN FOR VANTAGE

A Poem by Devra Keokongchack

Soulless
My vase
Underwood childhood
Adolescent driftwood
Drifting away from thrift

Sifting throughout
Soldiers standing about
Face of two
Voyage to nowhere
Souls accrued
Dignity nude
Infiniti sign
Loopy

Desolate ballyhoo
Cancerous
Regeneration malignant
Little runt
Self proclaimed pirate
Literary

Copyright procure
Right brain obscure
Unrefined sugar
Daddy
Cannibal suicidal
Thoughts
Unsung
Muted
Gotterdammerung
Im on the wrong side...

Like the reference to Wagner’s ‘Twilight of the Gods’ a prophesied war among various beings and gods that ultimately results in the burning, immersion in water, and renewal of the world. Your composition reflects a moody, deeper thought provoking process which keeps the reader attention from start to finish. Well done ..
