Painful Dream

Painful Dream

Painful Dream

She

So captivates

My deepest dreams

When she sings of me

In the tune of lasting lovely

She found my heartstrings

Pulled them forcefully

Clung to thee

She loves

Me.

Yet

I wake

I scream out

She has left me

Her silence burns

It shrieks out of tune

It doesn’t rhyme

Or make sense

Shes gone

Bye.

My intention was to make the second part of this piece choppy, hopefully representing the confusion that comes from heart break. Let me know what you think!

The comfort, warmth and excitement of a dream, shattered like a porcelain rose on waking and finding her gone. Beautifully penned my friend. I sometimes wonder if I actually prefer the dream state to reality some times.
