Talkative LiftyA Poem by coffeedigestMy job was a "Ski lift operator" I sat and watched, wrote, and dreamed.Talkative
Lifty Once I wrote a poem, I was at work, well “Work” Is a loose term. I had a job. I sat, and watched people get on Or get off. I just watched. Slick, like ice Well, it was ice Or snow, it depends. It depends on what? Things I guess, Did it snow? Or hail and blow? “See I can rhyme, told you so.” I wrote a poem, On top of the world. On and off, they came and went. “A penny a chair I said” My booth was like a throne I sat and watched. On and off. They laugh, I cry. Have you ever just sat. Like seasons my mood. Let me leave, set me free. My booth is no throne. A jail maybe, Or a crypt. I said, “A penny a chair” As I watched and wrote, On top of the world.
