Your little habit

Your little habit

A Poem by Jéssica Fernandes

the distinct smell of the bush

sleeping over the blankets.

you fill me

with wherever you are.

your sweltering cologne,

rich like the blend of

woodland aromas.

the delicate tea stain

sleeping under the blankets.

faded scarlet

like young red berries.

even on winter nights,

you have always liked

summer fruits the most

yet, some people say

you have just that little habit of

appearing in my dreams

every single night.

In each line is woven a deep, richly ornamented emotional thread, and you weave them into a tapestry of loving, of longing, and of dreams, wondrous sweet dreams. Maravilhoso, Jéssica.

Perhaps your lack of fluency releases you from rules and convention. Your words are like paint on canvas. I think this is very profound. I like your writing very much.

For not being fluent in English it's rather good. This poetry left me with a warm feeling sort of. A real closeness. Like hot chocolate. Good poem.
