Veneering of a heart

Veneering of a heart

A Poem by Cody Michael

broken heart upon the floor,
crushed to dust,
blown so far,
come back togather,
heal your wounds,
so that you can be broken to dust,
just once more,
when time comes,
the lie revealed,
you cant fix a broken heart,
damage done is damage forever,
just accept the brokeness,
and c**k the cracks,
mold the vernear,
to show a perfect heart.

Hi Cody, I like the flow and raw emotion I've always seen in all of your poetry. Today, this poem is not the exception.
Raw emotion that you've unabashedly displayed, poetic verse. The note I may make, is to maybe as you were at an open mic?, read your poetry aloud. A natural soft pause- use your comma. A hard break or transition in flow, I would suggest breaking to a new stanza.
Reading aloud helped me. You can also catch forced rhymes- lines that simply won't work and at the end you will hear exactly what you want to portray so beautifully! In this practice you'll find that your poetry will become more and more natural. You have the talent- the thought- the material.
You also put these things together quite well. As I'm reading your poetry it is easy to step into exactly what you've sought to portray. Well done!
Your poetry is advancing, even in the two? Three short months since I read the last!
I enjoyed this piece, and appreciate the depth of emotion you bring to everything I've read from you!
