Heat, Mind, Flesh, Body

Heat, Mind, Flesh, Body

A Poem by Cody Michael

Scattered is the pieces that once formed the heart in my chest,
taken and broken by the will of others.
Tattered is the mind once so subtle in my head,
suffocated by the stress that turmoils from life.
Scared is the flesh upon my once flawless arm,
cut down by the razor to keep sane and sound.
Despite is the body that once held a place of fortitude,
now only seeking relief from the endeavors of the self.
