Cold LoveA Poem by Cody Michael
Depression is like a drug that I can't quite on my own,
It holds me close, a captive shackled by its weight, Cut deep into me, it's the only thing i know, It makes me feel safe, alive. Im addicted to it's cold touch. The one thing that always came back to me. Tenderly caressing my cheek, Depression holds me close, Even a mother has not held me this close, It's showed me more love, More compassion, Then all those that have said "I Love You" Forsaken as I feel, When all my world is breaking, depressions cold touch shed new life. It gave me new meaning. In return for its love, I lay shacked and broke. A useless tool, cast aside.
