Geopolitical Status vs. Degradation of the Oil Industry

Geopolitical Status vs. Degradation of the Oil Industry

A Story by Cody Michael

The geopolitical stability in the united states is on the verge of collapse from the degraditation of the oil industry. As the dominate known life form of the planet, our species has based a rare, but unique substance as the foundation of our exsistence. petrolrolum is a rare phonomenon, taking millions of years to form. however rare petrol may be, our species has already depleted over half of what our planet has to offer. even worse is how we use petrol. petrol has found its way into ever part of our lives, from the key board an computer im using to type this on, too the clothing we wear. If we look closely, petrol is even used in a way to help make special furtlizers to support our already unstaniable world population. In turn, it is said that we have all but twenty to fourty years before our planet is completly drained of all oil. as that day aproches our oil based population will continue to be more unstable. in geopolitical terms, governments will begin to fight over the last drops that they can squeez from our planet, as masses of people die due to malnutrition from a global famon. without large quanities of cheep oil, our species population will begin to dwindel down to a more naturaly stable an sustainable number, or something worse...exstiction. Governments have taken small steps to decrease the conection we have to petrol. these steps are no-wheres near enough to even begin to take the power oil industries have on any particular countries geopolitical sisuation. Almost everything we own is made from petrol, a non renuable resource.

I propose a combined international effort to limit petrol for the use of vichal travel an to creat furtlizers to help suport the global population. At the same time, using product no longer viable for use that where crafted from petrol, to be broken down an created into viable products. by doing this, the demand on fresh petrol would decrease alowing for oil to be kept cheep past the estimated time in which petrol would be depleated from our planet. the short term effect of this would cause indutries to re-look how they manufacture products. several dozen industries will go bankrupt. long term effects would be a greener planet in that recyling would become a necisity for maintaining industrial growth. our island of plastic bottles would soon vanish alowing the ocean to be cleaner. this alone would decrease the impact of the degradition of the oil industry on the united states geopolitical siuation but only for so long. by doing this, the internation comunity, including the united states would be given more time to work on transitioning to clean, green technologies for fuel and power.

My second proposal is to do a massive overhull and upgrade to our power gids an how they are suplied with energy. Starting with using green technologie to power at least 85% of our nations power demand and 15% using nuclear power.  during, and following this increase of green fuel sorces, the grid will begin to be replaced/upgraded to be able to be compatibal, and handel the new influx of electrical power. this upgrade would allow for a much more modern way of generating an distrubiting energy in large quanaties with a decrease of brown outs . as a direct result of having a modernized grid system, an extensively using greener technologies, we would make electricity cheeper alowing for our nation to transition to electricaly powered cars as the basis for the general publics mode of transportation.

In effect the former would render our nation, as well as every other nation that uses petrol and an participated in changing the world, to no longer have its geopolitical status to be influenced primarly by the oil industrie.
