Girl Like You.

Girl Like You.

A Poem by Coco

Who could I have become
if they hadn't told me not to?
What could I have made manifest
if I had not forfeit my audacity?
Or learned to distrust the urgency of my own voice?
To what end could I have summoned my life
if I had not absorbed their doubts into my own?
If I had not surrendered to Less Than?
The long and grueling climbing a mountain of can't, don't, not meant for you...
Overcoming to reclaim the Self.
But who might I have been if it were always mine?
