Lost.

Lost.

A Poem by Coco

When you slipped, quietly and finally, from
beneath my reaching fingers
there was no jolt of flaming pain.
No anger.
No agony.
When we parted, placidly and without contention,
I had already spent
all of my hurts
on a thousand heartbreaks.
In the end, I was left with only a wandering lostness.
Not shattered, as expected.
But wide-eyed and disoriented.
As if the world no longer made sense
without you in it.
