On the side porch.A Poem by Coco
Sizzle.
And heat. Grilling burgers. Inside. Snipping the ends off verdant green beans. Slicing tomatoes, ripe and dripping. Playful banter. The minutiae of our day. Flirting. Summertime. Golden late light filtered through trees. Buzzing. Sweet smelling breeze blowing my hair across my cheek. You move it away. Plates balanced on our knees outside your house. I never do this, you tell me. Just sit here. Thank you. And all the gifts I'll ever envision are handed quietly to me alongside dinner.
