Much like East of EdenA Poem by Coco
She carried it with her for always
this burdensome box. small and vast. Filled with all she is. Filled with love. Seeking its owner, she let them explore rummaging the contents with greedy, dirty, disinterested fingers. All turning away. Each unable to take the box she carried because it was not his. Shaking heads, averted eyes. Downcast. Cast away. They handed it back to her. Roughly Slyly Passively Secretively Brutally Apologetically Regretfully And finally, on the day he approached, her heart recognized and understood. And she loved him because it had been his all along.
