Into The Wash

Into The Wash

A Poem by Physiology Fan
"

A poem about a man who affected me in a very negative way.

"

A small, scarlet speck, the only evidence.

Sitting, soaking, contently in my innermost clothing.

I stare at the speck, hating this heart of mine.

I love you too much, that's why I let you do this to me.

Or maybe I don't love you enough, and that's why I didn't want to.

Either way, this dull throbbing pain resembles that sharp one from earlier.

Earlier, when I was at your house, when you stole from me.

Earlier, when I thought you were my friend.

Now I am on my bed, a simple place.

More suited for me than your couch.

I never want to be there again.

But I will be there again, I know I will.

I still love you.

But this small, scarlet speck reminds me why I shouldn't.

So into the wash they go.

I must ignore the truth to make you happy.
