Broken hearts all around

I'm sorry...

I wished for this to happen,
I wanted you to go.
When I accepted your relationship,
I thought it could be good this time.
I hoped that if it wasn’t,
You’d leave and not return,
And never want to be mine again.

So when we broke up for the third time
I tried to shrug it off and move on.

As I see you in the halls,
When you sit in the same class,
I remember how we were…

If this is what I wanted all along,
Why do I feel so alone?

Three time is a strike out. Best to leave those feeling buried. A sad poem with many good questions. Sometime what we wish for isn't always the best. A excellent poem. A lot of open questions that are answer by living a life.
