Thank you Mom, Thank you Dad

Thank you Mom, Thank you Dad

A Poem by Cocoacandy
"

a thank you shout out to all parents, no matter how many children they have- Thank you for being there *cocoabean*

"
On the eve of the night I was born,
An amazing thing happened.
My parents learned to love without cause,
To love without knowing,
And to forgive me my issues.

I was problem from the start
And I know I’ve been problem ever since,
But no matter how much I struggle
Or how much I hate,
They smother me with love
and I can’t stay hostile.

So this one is for you, mom,
And this one is for you, dad,
Thank you for being perfect,
As I know I am not.

Ok.
I finally found it.
After reading seven of your pieces, I was afraid that while very well written, they were really not the sort of thing I prefer to read.
I can appreciate anyone who writes fiction, in particular if they post hundreds of pages, as I cannot for the life of me keep track of the individual characteristics of the characters I create. It seems impossible to me.
So, good work on those others, especially Free and Spring.
Now, this piece here is much more in line with what I like to read, or see, if you will.
It is a fine articulation of a pure thought that honors your folks.
And not in a manufactured, plastic hallmarky tone, but more like something they would hear, or like to hear you say.
As a matter of fact, I'll bet if they read this, it would be your voice narrating.
It's Great.

A beautiful and positive poem. Your words are true. A good parent changes direction from their own gain. To give all to their children. I like the story and the very good ending. This is a outstanding poem. Thank you.
