Pure InnocenceA Poem by George LoveCould Death take a side against pure evil?
Pure Innocence
Out about this one dark eve
Rose up one devil conceived
Tasting once the tender grace
Of those so innocent
Death would ner chase.
Stalks now one so full of youth
Knowing this fruit so pure and chaste
May once again his maker might haste
And find within this deep dank soul
No heart, no mercy but death’s dark toll.
Facing him now she stands so small
Yet afraid he becomes
And feet found solid
As rocks they be
No escape her gaze!
Failing no option, now sinister within
Yet solid stand feet on this hallowed ground
She sings a bright melody, and sparkles her eyes
Death now joins as by her side
That dark soul falters now fast!
Sun now stabs deep his heart
Which never flowed blood fresh
Only cold and dark
Death now laughs as sings she her song
Back to darkness she drives him long.
Ner again to rise as breaks now this dawn
Driving him back to depths of Hell
Dark night has slain this creature of death
Who knew not why
But only the sport!
