Still the SameA Poem by George LoveDepression as a gray fog
Still the Same
The still grey fog begins
Rising all around
Taking away hope,
In its wake despair
Feeding upon itself
Now grows thicker
Darker, more darkly
Hiding all brightness
Casting me down
Mocking me as I try
To rise against its mighty force
Destroying my will
Taking away joy
Removing all I hold dear
Yet all is still the same
Nothing different
Not one bit changed.
All stays as it was
Hidden beneath
This strange dark veil
Cornered with no escape
Death would mock
Too easy it says
Give me all
The hope you store
From inside your heart
I will devour your soul
Take all your life
And leave you
Broken, empty
Not even a shell
And yet it is all
Still the Same.
