One More SaintA Poem by George LoveIn honor of Vincent DeGeorge
One More Saint
A kind word for all he met
Simple wisdom through all his years
More humble than all these years have seen
Cared for one and cared he for all
No trouble for him would he allow one to fuss.
Winning hearts with simple smiles
Never once would betray family nor friend
Simple faith carried forward in every deed
Kindness and warmth spread with every step
A kind Laugh, nod or advice always at the ready.
Greatness most measure in actions or wealth
Yet great he was in simple warmth and faith
We rest this soul no more to mourn
Yet celebrate this life so great in years,
Now lift we up this life for all to see.
Ready he was yet seems untimely now
As Heaven must have needed him
To plant a tree, mend a faucet, grow a new garden,
Or perhaps to watch over new souls,
As they might catch cold without their hats.
Whatever his place in that great beyond
We know he will now welcome all who arrive
His life passed, this life we celebrate,
And keep his memory deep within our hearts
For not one memory will fail to bring us cheer.
In Loving memory of Vincent DeGeorge
