Stacy and Kimberly are at odds concerning the promotion.

“Stacy, why are Mom and Dad arguing about us doing that promotion for our gym?”

            “Kim, it’s not for our gym. It’s for the TV station, Marco’s TV station. He wants us to do this to promote his coverage of our regional gymnastics meet. Dad thinks Marco is trying to use us to make him look good to his bosses.”

            “We could keep them from fighting though, couldn’t we?”

            “How do you think we could stop Mom and Dad from fighting about this, with Marco in the middle of it?” You know Mom will do almost anything Marco asks her to do, even if it means we are going to get used by him. I hate that man.”

            “Sissy, please” Kimberly begged. “If you just say you will do the routine, they won’t fight any more over this. You’re the one who won’t do it because Marco wants us to. If you say yes, then the fight over this is over. WE do the routine, Mom is happy with you and me, and Dad will be okay after we do it and show him we didn’t get hurt.”

            “I don’t want to do it without him there, Kim. You know how I feel. I can’t do my best without either him or Aunt Laura there with me, and they are both covering some daredevil stunt this weekend.”

            “Whoa! Dad and Laura are going to be somewhere else while we are doing this stunt?”

            “That’s right. They have to cover some daredevil stunt for a TV station downtown.” Stacy hesitated a bit after she made that statement and a flash of enlightenment came across her face. “Uh, Kim, where is our routine going to be performed?”

            “Someplace tall, that’s all Shannon could tell us. She said they were keeping it all under wraps to keep other press away.”

            “Someplace tall, tall like the Texas Commerce Tower? Kim, that’s where Laura is going to be in her helicopter, Dad’s going to be there too. Marco has us all in one place!”

            “I don’t think I follow you.”

            “Come on, Kim. Get your head back on and put two and two together. We are going to be on the Texas Commerce Tower. Dad and Laura are covering a stunt at the Texas Commerce Tower. We are the stunt!”

            “I don’t follow why having us all in one place could be a bad thing. Why is that bad?”

            “Marco is up to something, Kim, and it’s not all about this event. He’s got something else up his sleeve.”
