Return?

Return?

A Poem by George Love

Return?

Can it ever be
That what we once had
Could ever return?
Releasing was the test
Best of all intents
And return never it did
To that once warm spot.
Were many words too heated
Voices so loud to shatter
Tender feelings you never knew?
Yet existed they did
And got in the way it seems
Reality has cast now its harsh light
And reeling from its blow
Is cast the heart of a million thoughts
Millions of love thoughts
Now left unsaid, never to be heard
For impossible it is to return from that place
Where you now have eternal rest.

Wow, this is a wonderful work. I like it immensely. Here you created a magnificent poem, sad in itself but with a great rhythm. Thumb up this one impressed me!
