Final Pain
Standing over all
He mocks at their cries
Exquisite pain their lot ever more
Into their eyes, he sees their fear
Basking in this, he fans the heat
Making more fervent their arduous pleas
Relief! Relief! Shall none be had?
Gathering minions, he sends them forth
More, more, more to the fray!
New ones entering, joining the noise
Ever more lasting the dance of pain
Words now fail those inside
Pain, final pain, searing the flesh
Nothing relieves, nothing abates.
Feeling mirth, water he sends
Lest be thought he an unworthy host
And laughs he does as all do fight
Over one lone drop flying through their midst
Vanishing within their reach and touch
Morbid laughter he taunts their ears
Service to me, yet was so easy!
Told you did I was this last place
For now you see the end of all
Life’s fleeting pathways hath brought you to me
You chose freely, and here you shall be!
Hello to all, your comforts have flown!
Voices so loud, he revels in such
And reaches forth, that fruit to touch.
Withering now, it sits in his hand
Casts it aside, no beauty he finds
Turns he to all in his desolate domain
Joy in them now he finds
Watching the squirming masses below
Feeds more to the furnace
And basks in its glow!
