Breaks the Cold

Breaks the Cold

A Poem by George Love
"

Winter takes over, life or reality?

"

Breaks the Cold

What cold is there
That stifles the soul?
What cost to warm
Each deep to the core?
Shall words now fail?

Once it inspired
Lost years ago
Now it imprisons
As now visions spin.

Cold so cold
A cup now to grasp
As warmth now enters
But fleeting in time
What left is there?

Shall one so warm
Rescue us all?
With kindness inside
Warmly reaches now, no not one.

Did something life change?
Can it be that words
Never spoken, not even in anger
Could melt away
Layers of ice as it covers such.

Last the night breaks
And with it the cold
Now once to behold
Shining, now brightly to see

Once more brightly
And breaks now the cold
Shall one now envision
Stories from past
Or go briefly, this light to pass?
