Dance!

Dance!

A Poem by George Love
"

On a night I was seeking inspiration, I observed several older couples at a Blues club

"

Dance!

All ages, all listening and feeling

Get up to move and find their beat

Not heeding rules and needing none

Their feet fall to the smooth beat of the bass

Some move with great energy, some with spirit

Some move for sheer joy while some just move for movement sake.

No rules apply, no reason too small

They just move to the beat, with aged feet

Without fear and without courage

They just move to the beat and each to their own style

No judgements made, and none required

Moving so smoothly to their hearts desire

No limits to test, nor skills to perfect

Movement to sound

And they simply Dance.

What a joyous poem! I can picture a park full of people just dancing to the music from the 60's underneath warm summer skies. It makes me want to dance even though I really don't know how.
