The explosion made Grimlock fall back several feet, Volanare assume that he was dead and there was no one left. He turned around and went back to Bismuth's fortress. The Archmages came out to recover any remains of the devestation that Volanare had created. "Archmage Valarukar! I found a survivor!" One of the Archmages holler. "How is he?" Archmage Valarukar asked leaning over Grimlock. "He's unconscious but he'll live." The Archmage said picking up Grimlock's body. Grimlock would stay in the care of the highelf abbots for a week. Grimlock woke up, to see one of the abbots walking over. "Welcome back." She said calmly. "What happen?" Grimlock said in a whisper then fainted again. Grimlock would sleep for another five hours. The abbot came back over. "Where am I?" Grimlock said looking around and noticing a abbot standing over him. "We found you unconcious at the battle field of the first wave of Volanare. We bought you back here at the temple. What is your name?" "Grimlock." "Do you know where your parents are?" "Dead." Grimlock said turning away. "Im sorry. I will let you rest and get Archmage Valarukar." A couple hours later Archmage Valarukar came up to Grimlock. "Welcome back Grimlock. Im sorry to heard about your parents. I was going to ask. How would you like to take up your fathers legacy as a mage?" "I would be honor." Grimlock said with a smile. "Good I will see you tomarrow at the Mage's Academy." The next morning Grimlock eat breakfast at the Temple. Grimlock left the Temple to the Mage's Academy. The Mage's Academy had a huge stair way known as the Great Steps. At the top there stood the Mage's Academy. Grimlock walk into the front doors, as he enter many mages were walking around; caring on with their work. Archmage Thom came up to Grimlock. "Welcome new comer you must be the person that Archmage Valarukar was telling us about. My name is Archmage Thom, I am one of the mages that can train you until you are ready to become an Apprentice." "How do I become an Apprentice?" Grimlock asked. "Well right now you will be consider a student, at this stage in your training you will be required to study about the elements of magic that you will eventually be able to learn and master." "What are the elements of magic?" Grimlock asked. "Hold on there eager student i'm not allow to tell you. If you are ready I will take you to your trainer." "I'm ready." Archmage Thom took Grimlock to the training room. "Trainer Rukah this is our newest student Grimlock he's eager to learn and im sure he will be one of your finest pupil." Archmage Thom introduce. "Welcome Grimlock I will be your personal trainer, I will teach you the basic fundenmentals of the elements of magic. First you must know what the elements are: lightning, air, fire, arcane, water, earth, conjuration, and one of the most dangerous dark magic. Lightning, air, fire, water, and earth are the five basic elements. Arcane, conjuration, and dark magic are the three advance elements of magic. It is your job to study each of the elements and give me a report about their characteristics." Trainer Rukar said giving Grimlock a stack of books on each of the elements. "You have until next month to give me your report." Trainer Rukar said. Grimlock went back to his house. He sat at his fathers study desk. Grimlock look around the desk to find a piece of paper and pen. As he looked around he discover his fathers notebook; he open it up to find that it wasnt a notebook but it was his father's journal. He skimmed through it, it dates back from when Grimlock's father was young to the day that he was order to protect the city against Emporer Volanare. Grimlock sat it aside, and found a notebook title Grimlock's Journal. Grimlock open it and begin to take notes about the elements of magic. He begin with the element Lightning. The book told of the origins of the first mages that used the power of Lightning. As these first Lightning mages begin to explore their new found gifts, they quickly found out that many of the other mages disagreed with their ways. Legend saids that the Lightning mages fled crystal moon to the mountains of the north, there the Lightning mages are said to still be learning how to cast new lightning spells. The lightning spells consist of shock spells, as well as emitting light. Lightning spells can be dangerous when used improperly, for the spells would build static charge that could knock other mages out or even cause death. Although Lightning spells can be very useful, for example Lightning can help control storms, and master lightning mages can even create storms. Grimlock jot the notes down and set Lightning aside. Grimlock took the next book out of the stack Air. The origins of air dates back to the same period as the lightning mages were packing up and heading to the mountains. The air mages begin to use their magic to blow the storms of the lightning mages away from Crystal Moon. The air mages soon taught themselves how to fly. This impress and upset members of the mage council. The High Councils came up with a solution, they sentenced all air mages to the sky there the air mages created their own city in the clouds to protect their former city from the storms of the lightning mages. Grimlock once again jot the notes down and set Air aside. Next Grimlock took the book titled Fire. The origins of Fire dates back to the beginning of time. Some of the first mages were fire mages. The fire mages began to make clans some for the good and others for the bad. The good fire mages were called Light Pyro's and evil fire mages were called Dark Pyro's. The Light Pyro's decided to help the community by creating fire to smelt ore into metals that would be made into some of the first armor and weapons of the High elf army. The Light Pyro's also went to the cooks of the community and help cook the food for the people. The Dark Pyro's used their fire magic to hold tournaments to further increase their destuctive nature. These tournaments would determine which clan was the powerfullest. Its here that the first meteor was conjured, by a Dark Pyro mage named Torch, the meteor was so powerful that it nearly destoryed Crystal Moon. The Light Pyro's came to the scene and began to try and put the fires out that have started throughout the site. The Dark Pyro's frowned on this act of good nature and put there petty differences aside, the Dark Pyro's began to assult the Light Pyro's. The Light Pyro's called forth the army of their fire militia. The fire militia wield fire swords, and their armor was enchanted to resist fire. Their armor was made of obsidian and due to the fire enchantment their armor presented lava like flows throughout the armor. The helmet had two horns pointing straight up, the helm covered the whole head and neck, the breast plates covered all of the torso. the arms and legs were covered as well with the enchanted obsidian covering all of the exposed skin. The fire militia charged the Dark Pyro's, the Dark Pyro's soon realised that they werent going to win, as for Torch he wasnt going to go down without incinerating the miltia he commanded his clan to protect him as he began to conjure another meteor. Torch launch the meteor into the air, the Light Pyro's began to create a fire shield over the army, the meteor crashed into the fire barrier, but it fail to protect the army. The meteor shattered through the barrier and struck the fire militia. The fire militia was no more, Torch had an evil smirck across his face admiring what he had just done. The meteor left a creater in the world, leaving the Light Pyro's shocked and confused. The other Dark Pyro's began to cast fireballs at the Light Pyro's, the Light Pyro's retaliated producing quick fire shields, then turn the fire shields into fireballs scolding the Dark Pyro's. Torch began to conjure yet another meteor, the fire mages began to burn Torch's protector's, the Light Pyro's fired their fireball's at Torch causing him to lose the meteor. Torch began to stand up, the Light Pyro leader Leo walked up to Torch and sucked the sacred power of fire out of Torch, then banished him to be imprision in the creater that he had made. It's said that he is the one who has created the volcanoe to the west. Grimlock set the book aside and picked the next one up, Water. Water magic was also at the begining of time. The Water mages sided with the Light Pyro's. Water mages also known as the Hydro's served the community by providing care to any High Elf burn by the Dark Pyro's tornaments or by their night time raids. The Hydro's were able to make rain clouds form, and help flourish the city. The Hydro master Orren and the Light Pyro leader Leo put together the first mage's academy after Leo banished Torch. At the academy High Elves could learn to control and learn the good side of magic. The Hydro's used their magic to form rivers, ponds, and oasis. Legend saids that Orren created the an oasis of knowledge and only him and Leo know the exact location of this oasis. Grimlock set the book aside and picked the last basic element book up, Earth. Earth magic came to the High elf magic a few hundred years after the the imprision of Torch. The first Earth mage was Brock. Brock wasnt sure what to do with his powers; the mage council ask to see what he could do. Brock went outside and began to raise mountians, this gave the council an idea. They ask Brock to make a ring of rock around the city. Brock did as the council ask, then the council ask Brock to carve the ring of rock into a wall for defense. Brock did as they ask again and in the process of making the wall Brock learn what his purpose is, that is to teach any High elves that wish to become an earth mage to use this magic for defense. Its said that in the final years of Brock's life, he created his own mountian and incased his body in the side of the mountian. Grimlock set the book aside and turn to the three advance elements. Grimlock picked the first book up, Arcane. Arcane magic
He is now elgible to earn the "Apprentice" title. Grimlock woke up and headed off to the mages academy, across town. "Grimlock" said Archmage Thom, "I would like to talk to you about the apprenticeship. In order to earn it you must show me and the other archmages that you can cast all of your spells and make all the potions and elixirs." "What do I need to show you Archmage Thom?" "I would like you to show me your fireball, and try to hit me with it." Grimlock waved his staff in a circle motion and created a fire ball, then launched it from his staff to Archmage Thom. Thom cast a low level barrier which should've with stood the fireball, but it broke. "You have proven yourself to me, but you still have to get the other archmages approvals." Grimlock went up the Great steps of the Mages Academy and found Magi. Greetings, Archmage Magi. I'm here to prove myself for my Apprenticeship." "Are you now? Well then, I will test your arcane magic. First can you tell me what "Arcane" is?" "Acane magic is the use of telekinesis." "Excellent; now for your next test. I want you to pick me up then, while in the air I want you to teleport me to the bottom of the Great Steps and keep me in the air, finally teleport me back up here and lower me down to the ground. Are you ready?" "Yes."Grimlock sat down and begin to raise Archmage Magi; slowly Magi rose, then Grimlock teleported Magi to the bottom of the Great Steps without letting him fall. Grimlock waited a moment before teleporting Magi back to the top. Grimlock lowered him back down to the ground, and then stood up. "Well-done Grimlock you managed not to let me fall. Congratulation you earned my approval to become an apprentice. Follow me and I shall lead you to Head Archmage Valarukar." Magi took Grimlock to Head Archmage Valaraukar's teleporter. "Step through this teleporter and you will find Valarakuar. Thom and I have already sent the approvals to Valarakuar. he will be waiting for you. Good luck and may the arcane magic always be with you." "May the arcane magic be with you Magi." Grimlock step through the teleporter. He arrives by Valarakuar. Valarakuar is in a glowing white robe and mask his face is hidden by a black face mask and his voice has a low tone. "Welcome to my quarters Grimlock. I will test you over all of your fire and arcane magic. if you succeed in all of those then, I shall teach you as my student. Which would you like to be tested over first?" "I would like to be tested over arcane first." "Lets start off with something simple. Levitate yourself in the air." Valarkuar said. Grimlock started to sit down until Valarakuar roared. "No! You must remain standing." Valarakuar ordered. Grimlock remained standing and begin to levitate. "Good now remain levitating and levitate me." Grimlock focus on Valarakuar and levitated him. Excellent. now teleport us outside of the mages academy." Grimlock focus again and vision seeing the Great Steps and teleported him and Valarakuar while keeping both of them levitated. "Well-done Grimlock you did not fail me once in this test. Lower us both to the ground so I can teleport us to the next area for your fire test." Grimlock lowered both of them to the ground and in a blink of an eye Valarakuar teleported them to a volcanoes peak. "Now Grimlock I want you to create a fire shield, then push the lava aside and pick up a molten rock, then bring it to me." Grimlock created a fire shield around hiself, and levitated down to the lava. Next he focused and made a hole in the lava, and lowered hiself down in the hole and levitated a molten rock and hiself back to the peak and gave the molten rock to Valarakuar. "Well-done Grimlock. I feel no need to test you anymore I shall now teach you a new magic group. I'll teach you air, water lightning, or improved fire and arcane. it's your choice." "I wish to improve my fire and arcane." Grimlock replied. "I shall help you improve your fire and arcane. We will begin the training tomorrow." Valarakuar teleported them back to the mages Academy, then teleported away. Grimlock teleported back home and rested. The next morning he awoke to see Valarauar and then in his quarters. "It is time to work on your arcane magic." Valarakuar teleported them to the Archmages training ground. "Lesson one. I want you to levitated and use your fireball but, you must control it." "What do you mean by "control it"?" asked Grimlock. "I mean you must make the fireball move around instead of shooting it straight." "Oh." Grimlock levitated in the air then produced a fireball. He managed to shoot it but, only make it curve a little. "Well that's a start. Let me show you how it's done." Valarkuar levitated then, produced a massive fireball that looked more like a meteor. He shot it and made it circle around him and grimlock, then he forced it up and made it explode. "That was a meteor I'll teach you it later but, now you have an idea of what im looking for so try again." Grimlock levitated back up then made a fireball. He managed to make the fire ball circle around him but, it faded away. "Excellent. That was good for a beginner most of my students could only make it curve slightly. its time for lunch lets go." Valarakuar teleported them to the Mages Inn. "Grimlock go find us a seat and I'll bring you some food." So Grimlock found a small area for two in the back."Here you are Grimlock." "Headmaster Valarakuar who's that over there, I've never seen a creature like that. "That isn't a creature youg apprentice that is a human and judging from his shield I'd say he's from Tellurium." "Tellurium, but isnt that where all the great knights go?" "Yes. I wonder what he's doing out here?" "...Excuse me but where can I find the Head Archmage Valarakuar?" the human asked "He's actually sitting over there in the back with his newest student Grimlock." "Thank you very much." The human came over to Grimlock and Valarakuar. "May I help you warrior." The warrior looks lke any other human from Tellurium, he's about five foot and four inches weighs about one-hundred and five pounds and weilds a sword and shield. The sword has a blue handle with a darker blue rings going up to its hand guard. The hand guard is a lighter blue with the shape of an upside down crescent moon. His shield has a W-shape top and in the middle it has the Tellurium symbol. The symbol is two of his swords crossing each other in an X-formation with the blades pointing down. The color of the shield is grey. "Yes I was sent here by my master Arthas he said for me to ask if you could send a student to come and form a defense against..." the warrior paused. "Against what?" Valakuar asked. the warrior whispered. "Bismuth." "Lets go to my quarters warrior come with us Grimlock." Valarakuar teleported them to his quarters. "Why does Master Arthas want to create a defense with just the apprentices?" "I don't know he just sent me here to get a student." "Well. I guess, Grimlock this is where our training ends...for now. Warrior what is your name?" "Isaac, Knight of Tellurium." "Must have been a long journey to become a knight of Tellurium." grimlock said. "It was you want to hear it..." © 2013 cody |
