Grand Finale

Grand Finale

A Poem by Cole Thomas

My grand finale,

I trust my inner wonders

in a time of apparent lifeless contemplation.

I retaliate my careless obsessions,

pay homage to my credentials.

I am an eccentric writer for the free spirit.

Curiously enough

the deaf love what I have to say,

and the blind love to read what I write.

Curiously enough

the waves I make fill the gaps

in this life, I’ve crafted.

I tried going out of my way

and found little gets done that way.

I stay a stray, all I do is wait.

Minds walk up to me wanting more,

there’s a galactic amount of resources,

but they choose me.

Old soul sculpted from infancy.

I’ve watched desolation desolate the desperate

many times over.

Instincts kick in,

I sit; venturing for my grand finale.
