Eradicating Time

Eradicating Time

A Poem by sincerely

Eradicating time

Ever since I loved you

I feel a sense of panic

I get this overwhelming fear

That life is so exceptionally short

Merely because

Even a lifetime with you

Doesn’t seem like enough time

Ever since I loved you

I ponder

Would an eternity even be enough?

Enough to remember?

Every beautiful delicate feature you posses

the way your lips form my name

or how lovely it feels to be in your embrace

Ever since I loved you

Each heartbeat feels precious

Each leading to when hourglass has run out

Though armed with strength, willpower, and love

Even I cannot turn it back over

Ever since I loved you

My wishes remain hopelessly unable to be granted

I wish the seconds weren’t so swift

the hours lived longer

and the day had no end

Ever since I loved you

I wish I could disrupt the watch

Stop the time for us to just exist

Time is the enemy

And I am defenseless

Ever since I loved you
