Passion's BurningA Poem by Courtney L. WaughWhen I look in your eyes I'm not sure what I see When you look in my eyes You know what you see Love and passion unfolding, never ending Love that runs deeper than any ocean or river. Swelling like a balloon on a hot summers day Beating a pulse, steady like a drum Glistening tears well up in the corners And then fall with every break or crack. Warmth surrounding, just like a shield Fire, burning from his touch. Stronger everyday, the passion rising Cold metal cools the fire-touched skin Gentle whispers spoken with ne'er ending promises Fire-touched skin floats down the path Some moments fly by as a seed is passed An ending is near as a new beginning fades into view One that'll be as never ending as the morning dew. © 2009 Courtney L.
