In a Mechanical Bird

In a Mechanical Bird

A Poem by Miles Colella
"

I wrote this looking out the window on an airplane to Las Vegas.

"

Endless. Possibilities.

Now I know what birds see.

They can go anywhere and do anything,

yet they nest. They find one small home,

a tree in your grandmother’s backyard,

perhaps, and they nest.

Just like us, they want to find a home,

and make it their own.

Yet the possibilities are endless.

How I wonder what it’s like to fly,

with no destination in mind.

The possibilities are endless -

for a bird.

Again, this is unedited and unfiltered. I guess one could argue that that makes it "pure", but really it's just laziness.
