Gabrielle

Gabrielle

A Poem by Miles Colella
"

A poem about a girl I knew

"

She is a wild spark that ignites my life

She has a silly spirit that soothes my soul

She likes to play and fool around

Her youthful games are delightful and distracting

She tears down the turbulence that torments my life

Her mind is made of mischief but

She carries herself with an immeasurable grace

She can carry a gun but can't carry a tune

She’s a soulful soldier, strong and stubborn in her ways

She sings like a siren, with her seductive shriek

Her skin is as soft as a sofa of scarves

Her eyes fill me with intense warmth

She stares into my heart and knows

Her heart beats with mine

She is younger than I but we share a sense of self

She speaks in sketches and illustrates her ideas

She has a love for virtuous vampires and telepathic townies

She laughs at silly songs by strange men

Her passion is explosive, her touch is divine

She’s my secret lover who speaks in silence

She will one day be mine
