Poison

Poison

A Poem by Denim wite
"

metaphor for self. not me. self- the poison that is in everyone, the dormant beast in so many souls. Only Christ can remove our murderer that lives and runs in our veins.

"

I laugh in my pride

and enrage in jealousy

weep for myself

and ignore all troubles

I drink poison

and say

"Drink with me

so we may laugh

and be merry!"

and only until

the very last hour

I realize what I

have done.

so I drink to forget

and murder myself

with laughter, lust and sin.
