DinoRAWRA Poem by cynicalbelieverAt the requests of various friends after a night out that saw me getting spiked and acting like a dinosaur, t-rex arms and all here is a poem about it. Enjoy. The night starts off well enough, We've been kicked out of a club, Searching for somewhere to drink, We stumble across an old pub of ours. Nothing ambiguous about it, Slightly dilapidated sure but nice enough, We enter and I'm greeted by friends from another era, I order the drinks as you both sit down. The drinks flow by, I'm drinking triples as I feel my sense leave me, Slurred words, Pool matches, Heated debates and nonsense slipping from my tongue. It's all good fun. But then a stranger offers one of you a drink, A 'special' drink, Only for girls, You refuse and I, Quite stupidly, Buy it. Nothing about me changes, We're still laughing, We're all still pissed but even so, We're enjoying it. It's all good fun. We leave for food, Then it hits me, The cold air outside almost knocking me out, You both realise something's wrong but can't do a thing. We enter the takeaway, My sense deteriorating, No longer able to speak I slump on the chair, Arms tucked in, Making gutteral noises. Then the food appears, I'm unable to move so I lean my head forward, Bite the food, Rip the chicken to pieces. Then it hits me. In this state I'm a dinosaur! I make the noise of one, Bite whoever tries stealing my prize, Somehow get home and collapse. I wake the next day to dozens of texts, Asking if I'm ok and declaring me a legend, I log into Facebook to see 'Dick'ed the Dinosaur', My face drops, I see the video, Shame washes over me. Then I see the comments, Rewatch the video. Then it hits me. I start to laugh. It's all good fun.
