Breaking The Stereotypes

Breaking The Stereotypes

A Poem by cynicalbeliever
"

I'm sick of how people how are treated due to colour, taste or preferences.

"
The classroom is silent,
Some students working,
Others slacking,
But all in harmony.

A blonde at the front,
Smartest in the class,
Everyone acknowledges it,
No jokes on her being dumb.

An Islamic boy talks to his friends,
No malice in his eyes,
Everyone acknowledges it,
No jokes on him being a terrorist.

A homosexual boy jokes around with other boys,
None of them threatened by his sexuality,
Everyone acknowledges it,
No jokes on his sexuality.

A ginger girl is the most popular in the room,
Loved by all she has a brilliant personality,
Everyone acknowledges it,
No jokes about her being ginger.

A black girl studies intently,
She wasn't raised in the 'hood' or 'ghetto',
Everyone acknowledges it,
No jokes or derogative terms about the colour of her skin.

A dream classroom,
But that's all it is,
A dream,
Until bullying and discrimination stops.

Bullying must stop.

Now.
