DrinkFast

DrinkFast

A Poem by cynicalbeliever
"

All I ever see at weekends now are kids my age all going out with the sole intention of getting wasted. A snippet of just some of the things I've seen or,embarrassingly, done whilst on a night out.

"
Start the night getting ready,
Hair done,
Clothes sorted,
Spray sprayed,
Set up for a night of drink.
Friends call at the door,
Ideas of the night ahead form,
Of how they'll be your wingman and you'll be theirs,
Already consuming alcohol before you're out the door.
The taste foul,
The effect immediate,
Slurred voice warped mind.
Walk the street
See a guy urinate on a passing car
Another hits a cop
Consume more and dart into the club.
Music pumping head spinning girls walk by and your friends push you towards them
More drinks consumed for courage more slurred voices as she leads you to the toilets
No memory of what just happened a grin on her face before another fight happens.

I know the grammar changes throughout, it's intentional. A gamble...I don't know if it paid off or not...

I like the effect of the 'slurred' and 'rushed' words together at the end :)
