The wayA Poem by closetauthor
How empty I used to feel,
Until your smile made me feel whole. Your laugh ignited a warmth in my chest, And made me want to laugh again. The way you looked at me, As if I were the whole world. You made me feel wanted, And alive. The way you pulled me into your arms, And held me like I was the most valuable thing you owned. The soft touch of your lips, Still lingering on mine. And the way your fingers danced around my back, Leaving little traces of happiness filled goosebumps. Your green eyes are what I saw, When mine were closed. This new found feeling of content, Caused by you. I may not be the same person I was, I am better. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wrote this a while ago, and wasn't sure whether to take it down or not. I choose to leave it up because even though the way I felt in this poem is a feeling that I no longer have, it proves that not all moments in life are bad ones. The person that this poem is about, no longer makes me feel this way and instead choose to leave and hurt me in the process.
