End of Story

End of Story

A Poem by Meghan

For the man I loved one thousand times
In the comfort of familiar pines
How you kept me running back into your arms, darling!
There you sat upon a fractured throne
Never said the words I should've known

From the channel most sincere
How quick it broke, how quick it healed
I'd a missed you for nothing but to blame me, darling!
When you make a point to say goodbye
Your sloppy kisses lined with lullabies
Make it difficult to stay alive

For the man, comes an empty silence
Tethered to a hopeless kindness
Well, you strike me but I like it don't you stop now, darling!
Never feel an ounce of shame or pain
For the honeysuckle need the rain
Curse your God and shout your lover's name

I can't entirely tell if you intended this to come across a little twisted, but that's how I see it. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE twisted. :)
"fractured throne" is so clever. It makes me think of splintered bones. I like the idea of a throne made out of splintered bones. "sloppy kisses lined with lullabies" is particularly outstanding too. One moment it's dirty, almost rough, the next moment it's gentle and sweet.
I love this poem.

Love is labeled on so many unlovely relationships... Yet this is reality. Darkness is reality... Makes me think of the phrase, "a Curse on God and die". Never a bright idea. 😏
Strong poetic voice. Vivid art.

This is really good!(: Twisted or not, it makes you think of more than one instance. I can see your thought process, and it's a good one.

You're a great writer. I usually don't like poems about love or romantic relationships but i actually quite enjoyed reading yours. It's very polished and like the other reviewers said, has a little twisted element which i love.

some really honest thoughts here. Always love getting a girls perspective on a relationship, it can only help what I can do for mine. I felt her and I in this, really good write.
