Love in a Time of Princesses

Love in a Time of Princesses

A Poem by clisa

Satire about Love Poems

"

Her whole life

She was a princess

Dressed in pink

Sparkly, funny and fierce

A princess from

A princess generation

She sold her crown

Discarded the ball gown

And the glass slippers cracked

She is unique

Special, smart, loved but

With grief in her past;

Different than anyone else

Ready to take on this world

Then

And then

And then

And then

Love

And. . . .

No one knows:

“No one knows what I feel,” she opines.

I deserve how he treats me,

I’m too special for him,

I deserve more.

Together we will reach mystical heights and

I never want to part.

You ripped me apart

With your blasphemous heart. . .

Keep your hands off my man you

      Know I am strong, powerful,

And a princess
