6. my worst first date

6. my worst first date

A Chapter by Jordan Williams
"

i wrote this for a friend of mine to sing when she was starting a band

"

from the back he looked cute

combed hair and a sharp suit

but blind dates hide well the truth

nicely dressed head to boot

but the point was moot

when i saw his smile had not one tooth

my hopes were high

i want to mope and cry

i cannot believe my worst cursed fate

this evening is messed up

still i'm all dressed up

i just can't leave my worst first date

the night was still young

so i bit my tongue

to find his conversation impressive

card declined, without cash

he tried to dine and dash

i told him as he was arrested:

my hopes were grand

this didn't go as planned

all on behalf of my worst cursed fate

this evening wasn't dull

call me when you're on parole

and we can laugh about my worst first date

made fonder by absence

hearts bonded with visits

love no court order or jail could stop

i was ill-equipped

to handle the truth slipped

he found a new flame when the soap dropped

my hopes are bruised

why must i always lose?

i can't defeat my worst cursed fate

i gave it a fair run

now it's back to square one

to repeat my worst first date

Ha ha ha this cracked me up.

I wrote one called No. 290 Drooling Fool about a first date too. Check it out if you're interested. Mine's meant to be funny too.

You don't have to check out my lyrics if you don't want to by the way, it's just a suggestion - tic for tac. As in some of your writing reminds me of some of mine so that's why I mention it when appropriate.
