drift in, drift out, give in without a fight

open arms closed when hoping starts to end in sight

short term memories, stored blurred sensory, perceptions made unclear

goals of fantasies, told no chance to be brought into the now and here

 

you keep me up all night, dreaming to make it right, i don't keep you at all

give in, give up, lived in too much to not recall

open hearts closed tight, frozen shards no light could thaw

long lost instances, strongly tossed distances, but i still hold them near

moments we together filled in seconds are severed and killed, never to reappear

you keep me going mad, reminding me and showing that i don't keep you at all

 

you swept me off my feet then cleaned me up complete, only to leave me brushed aside

your devotion excited me, but its absence invited me only to feel crushed inside

 

i kept you oh so close, falling more with every dose, you didn't keep me at all

i kept you as my better half, walking in a forever path, you wouldn't keep me at all
