A Chapter by Jordan Williams

do not draw your dagger of guilt

relent your hand away from the hilt

don't try to stab at what you can't grab at

bloodless it shines for none is spilt

impenetrable, impenetrable

never to falter, never to tremble

opposed to any opposition you can hope to assemble

fortified beyond what i once resembled

retreat to reforge your weapon

illest prepared for the field you've stepped in

of a restless battle, when tested you rattle

with a short sight and stride you leapt in

impenetrable, impenetrable

a sympathy smile just a long lost symbol

withstanding any emotional army assembled

fortified stronger than what i resembled

i'm done being nice

with self sacrifice

done meeting men with a militia of mice

i'm done being kind

i'm done being blind

i'm done holding in what i shouldn't unwind

the point that i turn

the point that i learn

the point that boils over to leave you burned

i'm done feeling guilty

i'm done feeling filthy

i wash my hands of a romance that kills me

i'm done feeling shame

and not sharing blame

i wash my hands of romance that beds me in flames

the lines that i crossed

the past that i tossed

to gain the present and a future not lost

this wall won't be torn down, you're bound to lose

this wall will be torn down only if i choose
